Pro Bono legal services for non-profit organizations
A program supported by The Florida Bar Foundation
Legal Aid of Manasota, Inc. has expanded the availability of pro bono legal assistance to local non-profit and community-based organizations in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Priority is given to agencies and groups that primarily serve low income clients or who are working to revitalize low-income communities. In order to qualify the non-profit must lack the financial resources to retain and pay a private attorney for the legal services requested. The project does not accept litigation matters and any necessary filing fees are the responsibility of the organization.
Legal Aid of Manasota, Inc. acts as the link between the agency needing service and the volunteer attorneys. In addition to providing advice and direct representation to the organizations, Legal Aid also coordinates training events to assist non-profits with recurring issues that affect their daily operations.
Examples of legal expertise available from volunteer attorneys include corporate, tax, contract, real estate, employment, zoning, land use and insurance matters.
Applying for services is easy, free and can be done online.
